What is an Implant?
An Implant is the most modern and closest replacement for a natural tooth
and is the best solution to a missing or many missing teeth. At
Quayside, We have place over 150 implants over the last 3 years.
How long will it take to complete?
It can take from 3 - 6 months depending on the individual case. At no
stage will you be without teeth and in certain cases we can replace the
denture immediatly before we place implants. In a lot of cases a
temporary tooth can be placed immediately on the implant.
Does it hurt?
You can feel a pressure feeling and a slight vibration during the
surgery, similar to a filling. after the surgery swelling is possible.
How much does it cost?
Around £2000 depending on the individual case.
Would I be suitable for an implant?
If you are healthy enough to have a tooth extracted you could have an implant.
How sucessful are dental implants?
Dental implants are one of the most sucessful treatments. One study in
the lower jaw showed 94% of implants were still successful after 14 years.
Do I have one implant for each missing tooth?
No, 5-6 implants can be used to replace all the teeth in one jaw. 4 - 6
missing teeth in a row can be replaced by 2 - 3 implants.
